2017 Lifetime Achievement Award
Timothy Chooi, violin
Canadian violinist Timothy Chooi was Bronze Medal Winner of the 2015 Michael Hill International Violin Competition and Grand Prize Winner of the 2010 Montreal Symphony Competition. He is a recipient of the 2013 Vadim Repin International Scholarship, the 2015 Sylva Gelber Award and was awarded on loan the 1717 Windsor-Weinstein Stradivarius by the Canada Council.
Avan Yu, pianist
Canadian pianist Avan Yu won the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2012, was the youngest-ever winner of the Canadian Chopin Competition, and was awarded the Silver Medal and Audience Prize at the prestigious Santander International Piano Competition.
Stefan Hintersteininger, cellist
Stefan Hintersteininger is one of the most in-demand cellists for new music in Vancouver, appearing regularly as a member of Turning Point Ensemble, Erato Ensemble, Vancouver New Music Ensemble and the Vancouver Symphony.
